Instead of focusing on the darkness, she saw this as an opportunity to transcend fear. The song’s perspective of finding meaning is also reflected in Ashe’s response to the pandemic, the widespread fear that it’s engendered, and the quarantine. That’s the moral of the story, babe (From “Moral of the Story” by Ashe/Ashlyn Rae Willson, Casey Smith, Noah Patrick Conrad and Finneas Baird O’Connell.) Even now, more than a year since its release, it continues to amass many millions of streams per day. The initial response was huge, and kept expanding. Immediately after the film’s premiere, Ashe and her song were launched into the streaming stratosphere and beyond, as millions sought it out. I Still Love You, it was used not as background music, but out front: The main character, Lara Jean, sings the song directly to the audience, facing the camera. Featured in the Netflix movie To All the Boys: P.S. It’s got the perfect fusion of seriousness and fun. Which might be part of the reason that “Moral of the Story” has so resonated at this moment of time. Now with so many scared, suffering or already gone, the yearning for meaning is greater than ever. Yet that quirkiness-which is melodic and rhythmic, and alive in the phrasing and delivery-adds a unique dynamic to the song, which is exactly the thing that makes you want to hear it over and over.Įven before our current crisis, our culture was at war with truth, forever uncertain about what is real and true. It seems to pop up everywhere, and shares a distinction with songs by Elton John, Joni Mitchell and others, which are also infectiously heartfelt, uniquely shaped by the persona of the singer/songwriter, and somewhat musically quirky at first. Now, months since the season of its creation, the song has continued to expand in every direction. With a poignant vocal that draws you in with the intimacy of a lover confiding in you, it’s an expansively, almost hypnotic song-you hear it once, and immediately want to hear it again. Uniquely dynamic, the song is conversational and theatrical, sad and funny, romantic and realistic all at the same time. The inevitable question would come: “So, what is the moral of this story?” It taught us all to look for meaning, even when things go wrong.Īnd so, with the world going so wrong right now, Ashe’s infectiously compelling anthem, “Moral of the Story,” is the perfect song for now. The moral of the story-It’s a concept we learned as kids, after being told some fairy tale that got fairly grim. With the release of her long-awaited new single, “Till Forever Falls Apart,” created in collaboration with Finneas, it’s a good time to reflect on the origins of the expansively quirky and unforgettable song, “Moral of the Story,” which placed Ashe on the Seriously Great Singer-Songwriter Map forever. The airline began service to Akron/Canton, Cleveland, and Evansville. In 1977, before the Airline Deregulation Act was passed, CVG, like many small airports, anticipated the loss of numerous flights creating the opportunity for Patrick Sowers, Robert Tranter, and David and Raymound Mueller to establish Comair to fill the void. A new east–west runway crossing the longer north–south runway was constructed in 1971 south of the older east–west runway. In 1964, the board approved a $12 million bond to expand the south concourse of Terminal A by 32,000 sq ft (3,000 m 2) and provide nine gates for TWA, American, and Delta. The airport needed to expand and build more modern terminals and other facilities the original Terminal A was expanded and renovated. On December 16, 1960, the jet age arrived in Cincinnati when a Delta Air Lines Convair 880 from Miami completed the first scheduled jet flight. The city's Blue Ash plans were hampered by community opposition, three failed Hamilton County bond measures, political infighting, and Cincinnati's decision not to participate in the federal airfield program. The city purchased Hugh Watson Field in 1955, turning it into Blue Ash Airport. In the 1950s Cincinnati city leaders began pushing for expansion of a site in Blue Ash to both compete with the Greater Cincinnati Airport and replace Lunken as the city's primary airport. As late as November 1959 the airport had four 5,500 ft (1,700 m) runways at 45-degree angles, the north–south runway eventually being extended into today's runway 18C/36C. The April 1957 Official Airline Guide shows 97 weekday departures: 37 American, 26 Delta, 24 TWA, 8 Piedmont, and 2 Lake Central. A Delta Air Lines flight followed moments later. The first commercial flight, an American Airlines DC-3 from Cleveland, landed on January 10, 1947, at 9:53 am. Boone County Airlines was the first airline to provide scheduled service from the airport and had its headquarters at the airport. On October 27, 1946, a small wooden terminal building opened and the airport prepared for commercial service under the name Greater Cincinnati Airport. However, this was not before the first regularly scheduled air freight shipment in the United States arrived in mid-September, signalling the future importance of the airport. As the tide of the war had already turned, the Air Corps only used the field until it was declared surplus in 1945. The field opened August 12, 1944, with the first B-17 bombers beginning practice runs on August 15. In October 1942, Congress provided $2 million to build four runways. Boone County officials offered a suitable site on the provision that Kenton County paid the acquisition cost. Officials from Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties in Kentucky took advantage of Cincinnati's short-sightedness and lobbied Congress to build an airfield there. Federal officials wanted an airfield site that would not be prone to flooding, but Cincinnati officials hoped to build Lunken into the region's main airport. Lunken opened in 1926 in the Ohio River Valley it frequently experienced fog, and the 1937 flood submerged its runways and two-story terminal building. At the time, air traffic in the area centered on Lunken Airport just southeast of central Cincinnati. This was part of the United States Army Air Corps program to establish training facilities during World War II. Roosevelt approved preliminary funds for site development of the Greater Cincinnati Airport on February 11, 1942. CVG is currently the 7th busiest airport in the United States by cargo traffic, and is additionally the fastest-growing cargo airport in North America. The airport is a global hub for Amazon Air, Atlas Air, ABX Air, Kalitta Air, and DHL Aviation, handling numerous domestic and international cargo flights every day. Ĭurrently, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport offers non-stop passenger service to over 50 destinations in North America and Europe. CVG covers an area of 7,700 acres (3,100 ha). The airport's code, CVG, is derived from the nearest city at the time of its opening, Covington, Kentucky. Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport ( IATA: CVG, ICAO: KCVG, FAA LID: CVG) is a public international airport located in Hebron, Kentucky, United States. The identification process differs from the plastic-cased transistor to the metal-cased transistors, for example: Plastic-Cased The bipolar junction transistor can have either NPN or PNP, and it can have either a plastic or metal casing. Easy Thing! Why Does a Potentiometer Have 2, 3 & 6 Legs?… If it shows reading, it’s an NPN transistor, but both pins on the side must show reading whether it was a PNP or NPN transistor. If it shows reading, then it’s a PNP transistor you can also place the red probe on the middle pin of the transistor and then put the black probe on any of the pins on the side. First, grab the multimeter’s probes (the black and red cables), place the black probe on the middle pin of the transistor, and then put the red probe on any of the pins on the sides. To differentiate between PNP and NPN transistors or the bipolar junction transistors, you must use a multimeter. How To Differentiate Between PNP and NPN Transistors? You can find the transistor’s collector, emitter, and base either using a multimeter or without using it. So, how to find the collector, emitter, and base of a transistor? How Do I Find Collector, Emitter, and Base of a Transistor? The transistor usually has three pins or terminals: the emitter, base, and collector. Transistors are created by either stacking an n on top of a p on top of an n, or p over n over p.Transistors are semiconductors used to switch or amplify power and signals in modern electric or electronic circuits and devices. A semiconductor material with extra electrons is called an n-type ( n for negative because electrons have a negative charge) and a material with electrons removed is called a p-type (for positive). Some of those layers have extra electrons added to them (a process called "doping"), and others have electrons removed (doped with "holes" - the absence of electrons). Transistors are built by stacking three different layers of semiconductor material together. Using the diode (or resistance) test function on a multimeter, you can measure across the BE and BC terminals to check for the presence of those "diodes".) Transistor Structure and Operation (This model is useful if you need to test a transistor. There's a whole lot of weird quantum physics level stuff controlling the interactions between the three terminals. Don't base your understanding of a transistor's operation on that model (and definitely don't try to replicate it on a breadboard, it won't work). The diode representation is a good place to start, but it's far from accurate. The diode connecting base to emitter is the important one here it matches the direction of the arrow on the schematic symbol, and shows you which way current is intended to flow through the transistor. It’s a simple but elegant solution to creating an adventure game, and one that impresses me every time I boot the game up and see it. As the player moves from scene to scene, the camera pans to the next area within this huge and intricate stage. The entire set of Lumino City was actually created in a studio 8 feet tall, and shot with a 4K camera. The scenery on display (and the world itself) is stunning to behold, so much so that I would frequently stare in awe at the amount of detail put into some of the landscapes. Once you've run along a little and solved your first simple puzzle (which consist of picking a stick up in order to ring a bell), you’re finally introduced to the world of Lumino City - a fantastic City built around a large wheel. Whilst making tea, you hear a ruckus upstairs it turns out your granddad has been kidnapped, and so begins your adventure. It’s a simple system, and one that you’ll be stuck with for the rest of the game, but it works. You play as a girl called Lumi and it’s in this opening scene that you get a feel for the fantastic art on display in Lumino City, and it’ll be here that you start to learn some of the game's basic mechanics, including clicking and dragging objects. The game starts you out in your grandad's house, where he asks you to make him a cup of tea. A lovingly detailed town and characters bring the world of Lumino City to life and in so doing make for a great adventure experience. Lumino City's aesthetics draw you in and keep you going for a large portion of the game, but behind the amazing scenery is a comprehensive adventure game that managed to push me to my limits. Lumino City manages to make an argument against this, showing that a game can be successful based almost entirely on presentation something that can (and indeed should) rarely be said in the gaming industry.īut to reduce Lumino City down to aesthetics alone would be to do a disservice to the hard working developers over at State of Play Games. How much can and should enjoyment of a game be derived from its graphics and presentation? Many have questioned the desirability of games to be remembered on aesthetics alone or even primarily, arguing that gameplay above all else should stick with you. It’s a sequel to the game Lume which I haven’t played yet (as I learned there is a prequel just now by doing some research on this post).By VGChartz Staff, posted on 07 December 2014 / 5,386 Views So if you’re looking for a cute, relaxing point & click game and you love puzzles as well as details, you should check this one out. Like, you don’t need them, but they add to the story and the world Lumi lives in. They mostly consist of 10 pages or so, but I really liked those details. For example, at the beginning, you’re picking up a book with 900 pages (I think) and i flipped through the whole book and there was (scientific) content on every page! Also, Lumi finds some more books within the game. one of the first puzzles cute (first) town Lumi is talking to people sometimes from time to time, Lumi finds books ❤ puzzle-solving (developing analogue photos) Lumi is helping people outĪs you can see, there are a great many details in this game. As it’s a puzzle adventure, you achieve this goal via solving puzzles. The player takes control of Lumi, whose grandfather disappeared and she’s inclined to find him. From the beginning, I really liked the hand-made visual art – which was also the reason why I wanted to play this game.
